SYNOPSIS
Bare: A Pop Opera follows a group of seniors at an all-boys Catholic boarding school in the 1990s as they head into their last year before the world opens up. Jason looks like he has it all figured out: popular, gifted, headed somewhere. Peter loves him, and the two share a secret that their school, their families, and their faith have no room for. As the class rehearses Romeo and Juliet, the line between the play and their own lives starts to blur, and every student has to decide who they really are.
Sung straight through, with a score that moves from driving rock to aching ballads, Bare takes on sexuality, faith, mental health, and the hunger to belong with rare honesty. Since its Los Angeles premiere in 2000, it has become a cult favorite around the world, especially among LGBTQ+ audiences and anyone who has ever felt like they didn't fit in.

The Elevator Project has evolved into a curated season of bold, genre-spanning work selected through a competitive process by a panel of arts professionals and advocates.
