CREATIVE TEAM

BILL SHEA (Director) brings a remarkable range of acting skills and a deep appreciation for the art of theater. He directed Second Chance Players' 2024 productions of Next to Normal and Bill W. and Dr. Bob. He also played Dr. Bob in the latter. Favorite roles are Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Emile in South Pacific, and Max in The Sound of Music. With over 30 credits to his name, Bill is new to the Dallas theater scene, having worked mostly in New York community theater. Follow him on Instagram at @golfer_bill1

CALEB ROSS (Assistant Director, Lighting Designer, Set Designer, Publicity) had the privilege of making his debut with Second Chance Players in their 2024 production of Next to Normal, in which he played Gabe. Caleb has been performing in youth and community theaters all over DFW for the last 15 years and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. Recent roles include: Crew/Performer (The Magic Of Rob Lake, Global Tour), Ernst (Spring Awakening) with Lakeside Community Theatre, and Ensemble (Sweeney Todd) with Repertory Theatre Company. ADELAIDE LAURENCE (Stage Manager)  is an Atlanta-based performer, and this is her first time taking on stage management. She has absolutely loved working on The Laramie Project with Second Chance Players. Some of her favorite projects as a performer have been Alice By Heart (U/S Clarissa/Queen of Diamonds/Mock Mock Mock Turtle, Ensemble), Miss Nelson Is Missing (Phoebe), The Lucky Stiff (swing/ensemble), and Spooky Dog and the Teen-Age Mystery Gang (Big Woody/The Phantom). EFREN PAREDES (Original Music) is also a veteran of Second Chance Players' production of Next to Normal, in which he played Henry. Past roles include Usnavi (In The Heights), Self (The Identity Project), and Ensemble (9 to 5). Efren is also a composer/songwriter on his own time. KEVIN SUTTON (Live Music) received his early training at Ball State University in Indiana and holds a master’s degree in church music from Scaritt Graduate School in Nashville, Tenn. After further study at the University of North Texas, he has enjoyed a long and varied career as a singer, conductor, pianist, radio host, actor, and writer. He is a staunch advocate for persons in recovery, and is proud to help carry out Second Chance Players' mission of redemption, inclusion, and education. After 35 years in Texas, he plans to move to the East Coast in 2026 to seek new adventures and fulfill long-held dreams and goals.

DAVID PHILLIPS (Costumes, Front of House) is a native Texan who has been involved in performing since an early age, when he began singing and dancing lessons and studied classical piano for 10 years. He enjoyed a long, successful career in the garment manufacturing industry. David was involved at Frisco community theater in many productions and capacities, both acting, directing, and set design. You've been able to find him on stage since 1982, performing in drag, both lip-synching and singing live, as well as taking on small acting parts with the Big D Roundup. In 2016, he took on the role of wicked stepmother in Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella at Garland Civic Theater, and also designed and made custom costumes. With Second Chance Players, the adventure continues.

LEAH SHAFER GLASER (Publicity, Program, Front of House) leaped on stage at seven years old and found her first love there. Favorite roles include Anne Smith in Second Chance Players' 2024 production of Bill W. and Dr. Bob, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Ivy Smith in On the Town, and Henrietta Seiberling in Divine Dames: A Play About the Pioneer Women Who Made A.A. Great. She lives a big, juicy, creative life both on and off the stage, which includes singing with The Women's Chorus of Dallas and serving on the Advisory Council for The International Women's Conference.

MARCUS HURT (Front of House) brings passion, loyalty, and an amazing ability to manage a pivot table to his roles with Second Chance Players. We would be lost without him.
